Hi, I’m Rafael Felipe —photographer and visual storyteller. I immigrated to the United States at eleven, and some of my first impressions of America were formed inside Smithsonian museums. That sense of care for stories and objects guides my work to this day.
For sixteen years I’ve photographed people, objects, and events with equal attention to craft and context. My workflow is end-to-end and disciplined: safe handling and staging, tethered or handheld capture, color-managed processing, and delivery that’s ready for publication or long-term access.
About this selection: this portfolio is a focused slice from recent years, curated for the NMAL interview. If you’d like to see additional subjects, lighting notes, or full-resolution files, I’m happy to provide them.
